“Gateway to Pride” Opening Weekend Celebration

Be the first to see the new Gateway to Pride exhibit and celebrate St. Louis’s fascinating and powerfully relevant LGBTQIA+ history. Join us for a rainbow ribbon-cutting ceremony and live performance by BandTogether. Throughout the weekend, you’ll enjoy live music, a Painted with Pride art display, a photo booth, face painting, and a family zone with art activities and storytelling. Don’t forget to stop by Sold on St. Louis to shop local goods created by LGBTQIA+ vendors.

9:15–9:45am | Performance by BandTogether

9:45–10:00am | Rainbow Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

10:30am | Cuentos en el Museo: LGBTQ Pride Month—Families are invited to join a bilingual (Spanish/English) story time that celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month with books about queer families, activists, and celebrities!

10am–4pm | Painted with Pride Art Display—View original art created by St. Louis artists who represent diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives.

10am–4pm | Photo Booth

11:30am–3:00pm | Art Activities

12–3pm | Face Painting

6–9pm | Pride DJ Night—Come for a dose of disco fever and vogue the night away! Local LGBTQIA+ DJs will spin memories and music form the local clubs and discos of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and beyond in the Missouri History Museum’s Grand Hall. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the Key Bistro.

10:30am | Storytelling in the Museum: LGBTQ Pride Month—Families are invited to join a story time that celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month with books about queer families, activists, and celebrities! ASL interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc.

10am–4pm | Painted with Pride Art Display—View original art created by St. Louis artists who represent diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives.

10am–4pm | Photo Booth

11:30am–3:00pm | Art Activities

12–3pm | Face Painting

2–4pm | Gateway to Pride Concert Powered by WerQfest—WerQfest is an arts and culture festival highlighting the Black queer, trans, and non-binary community. Co-founder Tre G will take the stage along with Paige Alyssa, Be.Be The NeoSoul, DJ PBnJeffy, Ming Lee, and Gollliday.
