JERSEYVILLE - The Jersey County Fair once again promises to be a fun community experience for all.

With events starting on July 11 and running through July 19, 2026, community members are invited to enjoy everything the annual fair has to offer, from carnival rides and 4-H livestock judging competitions to a demolition derby and beauty pageant. Tiffany Phillips, one of the fair’s organizers, noted that the fairgrounds are a great place to engage with the community and bring people together.

“It’s definitely a family-friendly event, and we try to have something for everyone,” she said. “We’re super excited.”

The fun begins with several 4-H shows on Saturday, July 11. A major concert rocks the grandstand that night with Chris Cagle headlining with support from Tyson Schulte. You can buy tickets online or in person.

On Sunday, July 12, the Exhibit Hall opens for entries and the Jersey County Talent Show takes the grandstand from 3–7 p.m. They are still accepting entries. The Praise Night follows from 6–10 p.m. under the fair pavilion.

A few 4-H shows are planned for Monday, July 13, and then the carnival opens on July 14 and runs through July 19. Prices for the carnival rides vary.

Phillips complimented Jersey County’s 4-H program, adding that the shows promise to be a lot of fun for participants and observers both.

“It’s a wonderful program,” she said. “There’s a lot of kids. They do a great job.”

The Jersey County Fair Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. on July 14 from the main intersection in Jerseyville by CVS and travels down the road to the fairgrounds. This will be followed by a show featuring Pro-Wrestling Epic at 8 p.m. at the grandstand.

The Exhibit Hall opens for viewing at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. The Miss and Little Miss Jersey County Fair Queen Pageant kicks off at 7 p.m. Phillips, who is the pageant director, said there are 18 Little Miss candidates and five Miss candidates this year, and they’re all impressive.

“It’s a great group of girls,” she said. “We’ve had a lot of fun. They’ve done a great job preparing. They have some great personalities. I would not want to be a judge that night.”

The Whippoorwill Rodeo promises tons of fun for all at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. On Friday, July 17, the Pro Pulling League Super Pro Showdown is a fun tractor pull for families to enjoy at 7 p.m.

There are several shows on July 18, including open swine and open dairy shows. The Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull kicks off at 5 p.m., and the Saturday Night Shoot Out follows at 6 p.m. On Sunday, rides continue until 10 p.m., when the fair officially closes.

Phillips emphasized that affordability was a main goal for the organizers, and they’ve worked hard to keep prices reasonable and to schedule events that are fun for everyone.

“We really try to keep it to where people can bring their families and experience the whole thing,” she said.

She also thanked the sponsors, who work hard to keep the fair running every year. She is grateful for their support and their commitment to providing fun, family-friendly experiences in Jersey County.

“We have over 90 sponsors that have all played a part in making this upcoming week possible,” she said. “We just ask people that they support these businesses and thank them. If it wasn’t for them, this week would not be possible.”
