EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville High School has named Lynne Collenback as the new head coach of the girls' basketball program. Her appointment was approved during the Board of Education’s retreat on Saturday, June 13.

Collenback brings more than 14 years of coaching experience at the secondary and collegiate levels to Edwardsville. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of coaching roles, including basketball and tennis coaching positions in Texas and Oklahoma.

Most recently, Collenback has served as an English teacher and head tennis coach at Ponca City High School in Oklahoma. Prior to that role, she coached basketball at several Texas school districts and served as an assistant women's basketball coach at Schreiner University.

"The opportunity to serve as a head coach has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl," Collenback said. "I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity, excited to join the Edwardsville team, and look forward to building strong relationships with our student-athletes while continuing to grow the girls' basketball program."

"Lynne's experience, leadership, and commitment to student-athletes make her an excellent fit for Edwardsville High School. She is a relationship builder who understands that strong programs are built on trust, consistency, and a shared commitment to excellence, and we are excited for the future of girls' basketball under her leadership."

A former dual-sport collegiate athlete, Collenback holds a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Education from Schreiner University and a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
