JERSEYVILLE — A sixth-grade teacher in Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 has been recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education for her work in the classroom.
The Jersey District said Christy Schilling received the Award of Meritorious Service in the Classroom Teacher category through the Illinois State Board of Education’s Those Who Excel Awards.

In a statement posted by Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100, the district said it was “proud to recognize sixth-grade teacher Christy Schilling” for receiving the award.
The district credited Schilling’s “dedication, passion for teaching, and commitment to helping every student succeed,” adding that she “goes above and beyond each day to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and valued.”
“This honor is well-deserved,” the district said, adding that it is “grateful for the impact she continues to make on our students, families, and school community.”
