ALTON — Monica Klockenkemper, a senior runner for Alton High School, concluded her fall 2025 cross country season with notable performances, highlighted by a personal best time of 19:46.1 for three miles at the IHSA 3A Regional meet held at Belleville West. Her time earned her 26th place in the competition.

Klockenkemper also competed at the IHSA 3A Sectional meet at Normal Community, finishing with a time of 20:23.7.

Earlier in the season, she posted a time of 22:06.7 to place 16th at the CM Twilight Invite in late August 2025. She continued to show strong performances with a fifth-place finish at the Alton Invite on Sept. 27, 2025, clocking in at 21:50.1.

On Oct. 15, 2025, she placed 19th in the Southwestern Conference Meet with a time of 21:39.7.

Known for her passion for running, Klockenkemper has expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming track and field season for the Redbirds.

In recognition of her achievements, she was named the Alton Roadrunners Club Female Runner of the Year for Alton High (she is shown at photo at the top).

Klockenkemper is also the Auto Butler Female Athlete of the Month for Alton High.
