Ronald Allred, III, the victim’s grandson, was seen at the residence earlier that day and had stayed there the night before. He was not present when police arrived but was later taken into custody after a standoff in the city, during which he was charged with resisting arrest. After being informed of his Miranda rights, Allred confessed to the stabbing during an interview.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are conducting the investigation.

Additional details reveal that at approximately 3:06 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2025, a St. Louis County police officer located Ronald Allred sitting inside a vehicle in the 5200 block of West Florissant Avenue in the City of St. Louis.

The officer attempted to apprehend him and discharged a firearm, but Allred was not struck and fled the scene. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the officer’s use of the weapon.

Allred is currently held on a $500,000 cash-only bond with no 10% option.

Authorities remind the public that charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
