ST. LOUIS — Firefighters are battling a large fire that broke out early Friday morning, Nov. 28, 2025, in a cluster of warehouses just south of downtown St. Louis, consuming multiple structures and prompting a significant multi-agency response.
The blaze was first reported around 3 a.m. at the historic Crundin Martin Warehouse facility, a century-old brick complex near 2nd Street and Gratiot, the St. Louis Fire Department reported. Flames quickly spread, engulfing about five vacant warehouse buildings and causing several structural collapses.

The fire escalated to a sixth alarm, with crews from across the city working from the outside due to the intense heat and the instability of the buildings. To maintain citywide coverage, the fire department issued a total recall of its B shift, bringing in roughly 180 additional firefighters.
St. Louis Fire Department officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Firefighters continue to work to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
