MARYVILLE — A large house fire on Oxborough Court on Monday night, Nov. 17, 2025, prompted a multi-department response, but thankfully no injuries were reported, Maryville Fire Chief Doug Dankenbring said.
The Maryville Fire Department was dispatched at 8:28 p.m. Nov. 17, 2025, to the blaze, which Dankenbring described as one of the worst in the community in recent years. The homeowner was able to escape safely, and firefighters from Maryville and neighboring departments worked to contain the fire and protect nearby homes.
“We are very sorry for the person’s loss, but we are thankful there were no injuries to her or any other firefighters, and we are very happy about that,” Dankenbring said.
Firefighters from Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Troy and Collinsville assisted in the effort. According to Dankenbring, the large scale of the fire required teams to focus not only on extinguishing the flames but also on limiting exposure to surrounding residences.
Dankenbring praised the crews for their work extending water streams to keep the fire from spreading and said all of them did "a great job" in some very difficult fire circumstances.
“We extend our sympathy to the resident and thank all agencies who assisted," Chief Dankenbring said.
