COLLINSVILLE - Collinsville's Jenni Smith is seeking financial assistance for her husband’s medical care and family expenses following a severe staph infection that led to emergency surgery and partial amputation of his foot.
Smith explained that her husband’s condition deteriorated rapidly, necessitating surgery and resulting in an expected recovery period of six to eight months during which he will be unable to walk.

The family faces mounting hospital bills, medication costs, and expenses related to adapting their home for mobility aids such as a wheelchair and knee scooter.
With no medical insurance to cover these costs, Smith, who is the sole provider for the family, said she will need to miss work to care for her husband and manage their household during his recovery.
“The money raised will go directly toward medical expenses, monthly bills, home adjustments, and the equipment he’ll need to come home safely,” Smith said. “Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us and will help us get through this challenging time. Your kindness and support truly mean more than words can express.”
Smith has set up a GoFundMe page to collect donations to assist with these urgent needs.
