Community Partners In Peace Awards

Please join the Oasis Women's Center's for their Inaugural COMMUNITY
PARTNERS IN PEACE AWARDS 2009 MEN AGAINST VIOLENCE on Thursday, November 5,
2009 at the Alton Holiday Inn beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per person and are available by calling Oasis at 465-1978.
This year's honorees are Gordon Admire, John Amman, Dan Beiser, Dennis
Grubaugh, Bill Haine, Bob Hertz, Chris Hunter, Marc McLemore, Mike Meehan,
Jim Shrader, Chris Sullivan and Judge Tognarelli.

Timbaridge Band to perform at Senior Services Plus to Benefit Meals on
Wheels on November 5th 7:00pm. Jeri Parks and Senior Services Plus come
together to host a night of great entertainment while helping "Feed the
Need" to put an end to senior hunger. Suggested donation is just $5.00. All
proceeds from the dance will benefit the meals on Wheels Program.
Refreshments will be served, a 50/50 drawing will take place and door prizes

The photographs entered for the North American Indian Photography Contest will be displayed. The contest, sponsored by the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site and Cahokia Mounds Museum Society, is open to both amateurs and professionals and seeks photographs that transcend simple snapshots and evoke the spirit of the North American Indian: people, character, events, objects, symbols, environment, past or present culture, and soul.
