Dorothy “Dottye” Jean Robinson, 80, of Dow, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 20, 1943, in Poplar Bluff, MO, the daughter of the late John and Maxine (Thompson) Johnson.
Dottye attended River Church in Alton and was always letting you know that “God Loves You”. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always helped in her childrens’ activities growing up, and never missed her grandkids' activities. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and was the world's biggest Elvis fan.
Dottye married Merlin Robinson on August 8, 1964, in Washington Park, IL. He survives. Together they raised five children Daniel Robinson of Petersburg, IL, Steve (Laura) Robinson of Wood River, IL, Scott (Shelly) Robinson of Brighton, IL, Stacey (Monty) Manning of Fieldon, IL, and Christina Rae Cox of Brighton, IL; thirteen grandchildren Alexandra, Heather, Ashley, Jacob, Connor, Keilyun, Lauren, Caleb, Kaden, Matt, Damon, Collin, and Cason; eight great grandchildren; sister Jackie (Terry) Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maxine Johnson; brother Darrell Johnson; son in law Brian Cox.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
