Debra K. Griffin, 59, of Cottage Hills passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. She was born November 16, 1964 in Staunton, IL to Eddie Ray and Beverly Ellen (Gray) Smith. Debra was past President of VFW Post 7678 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly Smith; sons, Chris (Paula) Bechtold of Collinsville, and Corey Bechtold of Cottage Hills; step children, Amanda Bond and Mark Griffin; grandchildren, Petyon, Sean and Lucas Bechtold, Levi Maverick Bechtold, Grayson, Oliver, Beckett Bond and Josiah Griffin: brother, Troy (Frances) Smith; sisters, Michelle (Jon) Tapscott, Tammy Reeder, and Misty (Curtis) Hawkins; several nieces, nephews and very close friends, Barb and Steve Bryant and many more special friends and family..
She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Ron Griffin; grandmother, Evelyn Smith and brother in law David Reeder and Uncle Ronnie.
Cremation services were entrusted to Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Family and friends may gather at VFW Post 1308 in Alton on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm to celebrate Debra's life. Memorials can be made to the VFW Post 7678 in Cottage Hills.
