With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the McKenna, Clark, and Gray families announce the passing of our kind, brave, caring, and unimaginably generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Beverly June Falkner McKenna on May 2, 2024.
Nana, the Queen, was a true matriarch who spent her life wholeheartedly radiating love, compassion, and support to all of those who came into her life. Family was first, always, and she instilled in all her prodigies the importance of maintaining a solid faith-based bond between us all. She was our counselor, supporting us with patience and veraciousness.
Beverly was born on May 6th, 1939, to the late Glen Landon Falkner and Amy Jewel (Hampton) Falkner. She was raised on the Falkner/Cooper Family Farm founded by her Great-Great Grandfather Johnathan Cooper, a Revolutionary War vet, which is located in English township named for Cooper’s wife Eleanor English. She enjoyed an exciting childhood with her beautiful, kind-spirited older sister, Gloria Jean. She was a profoundly spiritual, talented writer and poured out her love for her family into many poems throughout the years. She worked at a soda fountain in a local pharmacy, where she began her courtship with the love of her life and soulmate, Kenneth McKenna. Together, they built her dream home on the family farm where she nurtured her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with discipline, chores, love, and most importantly, five-star restaurant-grade meals. Ultimately, her soulmate, Kenny, nurtured her and took care of her with a display of unconditional love that is rare and indescribable.
Everyone who knew her loved her. And she instantly loved everyone she met. She saw the good in everyone and taught us to do the same. She believed in the power of prayer, taught us how to pray, and instilled in us the importance of trusting God.
She has gained her wings and transitioned to her new prestigious role of guardian angel, which we know she will excel at as she continues to consul and watch over her loved ones especially her husband, Kenneth Mckenna. Children: Michael (Melissa) McKenna, Patrick (Janna) McKenna, and Jeanna (James) Clark. Grandchildren: Alice (Aaron) Gray, Michael (Chad) McKenna, Julianna (James) Ogden, Landon (Gracie) McKenna, Annelyse McKenna, Lincoln McKenna, Reiley Clark, and Elias Clark. Great-Grandchildren Mason Gray, Wyatt Gray, and Morgan Gray. As well as numerous extended family and friends.
The family will host friends from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Jerseyville.
